During World War II, 600,000 African-American women entered the wartime
workforce. Previously, black women’s work in the United States was
largely limited to domestic service and agricultural work, and wartime
industries meant new and better-paying opportunities – if they made it
through the hiring process, that is. White women were the targets of the
U.S. government’s propaganda efforts, as embodied in the lasting and
lauded image of Rosie the Riveter.Though largely ignored in America’s
popular history of World War II, black women’s important contributions
in World War II factories, which weren’t always so welcoming, are
stunningly captured in these comparably rare snapshots of black Rosie
the Riveters.
Reblogging because I’ve never seen these before, and I bet a lot of people haven’t.
@kevineastmantmnt was almost as psyched to get his hands on my hard to find, exclusive #TMNT #GHOSTBUSTERS variant as I was to draw it. Still one of my favorites. Who’s got one????

Will Smith went to London and dressed up as a Boots sales assistant to promote Jaden’s new water brand ….. what dimension are we living in
“Brand of water” look at our society, we need a good old fashioned culling.
The kid is just doing what he wants to better the world. He started a brand of bottled water that’s better for the environment and is responsibly sourcing everything from the bottle to the water. They’ve gone as far to work with a specific city and only bottle excess water and pay the city more than its actually worth so their water infrastructure can be improved. He’s also donating water to Flint until the lead levels are actually at safe levels because the government decided they don’t want to anymore.
If you’re gonna try to complain about a celebrity doing something at least be educated on what they’re actually doing first
“We believe wheelchair users should have access to the same styles and trends everyone else has, without ever having to compromise comfort.
Our clothing has signature cuts and styles to fit a seated body shape, falling and draping naturally without interfering with wheelchair mechanics. We use top-quality fabrics that look beautiful and feel luxurious.
Our Easy Zip Back option in coats is just one way that we’re making layering up and staying warm easier than ever. Discreet zippers in the back mean that Easy Zip Back coats separate into two individual pieces.
Our signature ‘L-Shape’ means that IZ coats have the length you need over your lap while looking sleek and clean so you don’t sacrifice your style.”
The IZ Collection goes up to a 2X and has a wide range of masculine and feminine clothes.
They look gorgeous, but be prepared. They are expensive.
This is so rad
Right now, they’re throwing everything out for far lower prices – because they’re closing shop. So if you need/want any of these, now is the time to get it, I guess.
I saw this post years ago, and I just rechecked – don’t click that link, it tries to make you download and install a thing and then redirects to a google search. I’m pretty sure this clothing company no longer exists. It’s a shame, but spreading this around like they’re still in operation is not great either.
